komtar-shopping-plazaOne of the tallest building in Penang, Komtar or also known as Komplexs Tunku Abdul Rahman is located in the heart of Penang. When the skyscraper topped out it was the second tallest building in Asia after Sunshine 60 in Tokyo. Komtar was still Malaysia’s tallest building for 3 years before it was surpassed by Menara Maybank in Kuala Lumpur in 1988. Komtar was the premier shopping destination on Penang Island, and home to all the upmarket retail outlets. It was the pride of Penang before it lost its market due to competition of other shopping malls built in Penang. Although, it still one of the must see places in Penang. The ICT Digital Mall opened at Komtar  is of the best attractions and lifesaver to the IT geeks in Penang.

Prangin Mall

pragin mallUsed to be on of the hottest attractions  in Penang, Prangin Mall was the spot for shopping, dinind and or just to hangout among Penangites. Sadly, due to rising competition from other shopping malls such as Gurney Plaza and Queensbay Mall, Prangin Mall lost its luster. However, its still a place to visit by everyone.  Prangin Mall has 167 shops, spread out over 5 floors. In the basement there is a Giant Supermarket. Anchor tenant is happens to be none other that Parkson. Food and Beverages outlets include Starbucks, McDonalds, Home Recipe, Secret Recipe , Subway and many more.

Little India Penang

SaiLocated in Georgetown, the capital of Penang, Little India Penang is a definitely a must visit place. It is in the centre of Penang Heritage zone. It covers the area around 3 streets. They are Lebuh Chulia, Lebuh Queen and Jalan Pasar. The moment you reach there, tamil and bollywood songs can be heard which is played by respective shops stereos. Along the streets, are traditional sweet oulets, designer saree’s stores,and  there are multiple shops selling delicious Indian culisine which is affordable and tasty. There are roti canai, thosai, briyani rice, tandoori chicken, badam milk, Bombay halwa and many more. Furthermore,  you can experience to taste the food on a banana leaf with your hand and no utensils.

Located in the ground floor in Gurney Plaza, allong with other restaurants, The Little Nyonya Cafe serves authentic nyonya food that will definitely water our taste buds. Ranging from all kinds of Nyonya food such as Sambal Petai, Sambal Kangkung, Nyonya Nasi Lemak and mant more.Despite being a nyonya themed cafe, they also serve western cuisine that can be seen in a normal western food restaurant. The Sambal Petai Rice and Sambal Kankung is a must definite try.It is simply delicious..Their other dish is the Nyonya Chicken Curry Rice. The curry is well done and their potatoes are cooked just right.Their prices are also affordable ranging from RM9.90 per dish..So go on..The Little Nyonya Cafe a try..it will definitely be worth it.
