With the opening of Sunshine Farlim Shopping Mall, Sunshine Farlim Hypermarket stopped is operations and closed. Sunshine maintains its position as the biggest retail operator in Ayer Itam.The new shopping mall occupies two floors, and has a total floor area of 371,600 sq ft / 19,675 sq meters. The ground floor is a department store selling clothes and fashion accessories. The first floor houses a supermarket. It is accessed by a set of travelators. In addition to the Sunshine Department Store and Supermarket, the shopping mall also includes other tenants including Bread R Us, Penang Chendol, Adventist Bakery, Body Glove Shop to name a few.

Located in basement floor of Gurney Plaza, Mochi Sweets sells obviously Mochi which is a Japanese rice cake made of mochigome, a short-grain japonica glutinous rice.The rice is pounded into paste and molded into the desired shape and with assorted flavours. The mango and peach flavours are to die for. It serves as it between snack between lunch and breakfast.Flavour and texture wise, the mochi was yummy and delicious. The mochi’s skin was chewy and squishy, filled with generous amount of filling.Definitely worth the buy.
